HAI e-Learning Programme

Health associated infection (HAI) is of major concern to both health professionals, patients and clients and key to managing the control of infection is ensuring that staff receive the appropriate training.  In Northern Ireland, Trusts have recently been provided with a new HAI e-learning programme which should assist them in addressing the training needs of their staff in the control of infection.

Anne Hamill, Principal Consultant, who is project managing the implementation of the programme commented that, 'this online learning resource can be made accessible to all staff and blends with other methods of delivering training.  Furthermore, it promotes access to training at a pace, time and place that suits the user.'

Anne goes on to say 'that plans are currently underway to make the programme accessible to other health and social care staff including those in the independent sector and to have the programme embedded in health and social care undergraduate programmes.'
