All Nursing and Midwifery Education Consultants are experienced clinicians and teachers. The skill mix embraces all parts of the professional register and many of the medical specialities. The programmes included on this web site are illustrative of the wide range of skills and expertise available to support Registered Nurses, Midwives and Specialist Community Public Health Nurses in their role as competent practitioners and/or effective managers.
This web site is designed as a useful reference guide to short courses, study days and work-based modules. The modules are validated by the University of Ulster at foundation degree level and some at honours degree level. The content of any programme can also be delivered on a consultancy basis.
Other programmes can be 'tailor-made' following discussion with the Director / Assistant Director or relevant Senior Nurse/Midwife Education Consultant and delivered locally.
All programmes delivered in the public sector are covered by Service Level Agreements and are therefore free at the point of delivery to core client Trusts. The Unit will respond very positively to requests from the private and independent sector. Costing for study days, short courses or tailor-made programmes will be provided on request.
The Statutory Return to Nursing, Return to Midwifery and Overseas Nursing Programmes are provided in line with NMC requirements. Access to the overseas programme requires the overseas nurse to have obtained an appropriate placement and supportive employer.
In the year ahead, we are placing additional emphasis on supporting organisations to modernise and reform service delivery. We believe that investment in the continuing professional development of Nurses, Midwives and Specialist Community Public Health Nurses and other health care workers, will ensure that nursing teams are at the forefront of the required changes that lie ahead.
We look forward to welcoming you on our programmes.
